Silver Jewelry Suppliers Upbeat On The Festival Season!

Silver jewelry suppliers are quite upbeat about the upcoming festival season and are looking forward to post their best ever profits so far. The only dark lining among these silver clouds is the rising cost of silver. In the commodity market, silver is shining quite bright and has even outperformed gold in the current bull run.The existing high demand for silver is being further fuelled by the investment sector, the industrial requirements and the jewellery makers across the globe.

The dwindling momentum within the world economy, has made the whole situation more complex as the investors are often in the dilemma on whether to invest in gold or silver. Trade analysts say that the continued increase in the silver's price can be mainly attributed to future trading.

Expectedly, the silver jewellery makers aren't too much amused with the current ballgame. In their opinion after the gold prices sky-rocketed the demand for silver started to increase, though if the silver too follows the gold's way then it wouldn't be too long before its demand begins to tumble down.

Since prehistory, silver has remained one of the favourite metal for ornaments, utensils etc. Silver jewellery suppliers confirm that in the current scenario India remains one of the lead consumers of silver and the world markets are betting big time on the upcoming Diwali season for the record breaking sales. The largest producers of silver in the world remains the USA, Canada, Mexico, Bolivia, Australia and Germany.

Overall, Indian exporters are having a field day in the current fiscal year. Fashion accessories suppliers on an Interstellar Overdrive

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” - Coco Chanel

Last week while I was watching the Toronto Fashion Week one thing which struck my mind was, if we see the models minus their fashion accessories wouldn't they look drastically different? I also recollected reading a column in The Independent (a UK daily) which proclaimed that fashion accessories are as a matter of fact saving the fashion industry !

All this made me think that there must be something which makes fashion accessories so important to the fashion fraternity worldwide. Experts say the answer is : They complements one's garment. In addition to adding colors, style or class to an outfit, they also have practical utility and importance.

That bring us to another important aspect as to so what exactly qualifies as a fashion accessory? My in house experts say anything which supplements a dress like jewelry, gloves, handbags, hats, belts, scarves, watches, sunglasses, pins, stockings, bow ties, leg warmers, leggings, neckties, suspenders etc can be considered as a fashion accessory.

Fashion accessories suppliers agree to the fact that accessories are some times used as visual symbols of religious affiliations like Crucifixes, Jewish stars, Islamic headscarves, skullcaps , turbans etc.

Due to the economic downturn, the garment industry has been struggling to make profits (due to cut throat competition among the manufacturers) but to the surprise of many analysts, fashion accessories have been able to buck this trend much to the market's delight !

Consumers across the globe are spending on fashion accessories like never before . Many research reports have confirmed this trend. The industry insiders vocally agree to the fact that the fashion accessories industry is on the verge of its renaissance. This change is also visible on the internet auction sites such as eBay etc.

Even though all seems well for the fashion accessories industry, there are still many challenges to address.

These challenges include
* Continuous increase in the raw material prices
* Intense competition
* The ever changing buying preferences of the consumers
* Emergence of new low cost manufacturing locations
* Strict vigilant governments and regulators

Charles Darwin's theory of survival of the fittest holds true for the fashion accessories industry as well. Fashion accessories manufacturers know that their existence and growth will require keeping a constant tab on the industry dynamics and pro-activeness for adjusting as per the market's requirement.

The Asia pacific region being the flavour of this decade is all set to gain more in the times to come. Business in countries like India and China will flourish as they offer the much needed cost advantage to the bigger players. Many branded names are setting up their manufacturing units in India and other low cost destinations thus giving a boost to their domestic market.

If the overall sales projections are anything to go by, these are indeed one of the most exiting times for the fashion accessories industry across the globe !

Earlier most of the furniture made, used to be of expensive woods like walnut, oak, mahogany, rosewood, fruit woods and rare wood veneers and inlays. Leather Bags Suppliers to Gain From volatile Chinese market

I'm told leather drives men up the wall.
I like wearing it because it feels nice.
-
Honor Blackman

Recent news reports highlights that the appreciation of Chinese currency will help the Indian leather industry in garnering more market share in the future. An unexpected rise in the cost of Chinese leather and leather products is forcing the US and European clients to think about setting up their manufacturing units in India.

The report further says that if the domestic industry gets its pricing right, then it could walk away with at least 5% of the Chinese exports, especially the footwear segment. As of now, footwear alone accounts for approximately 45% of the overall leather exports from India.

Leather bags suppliers are delighted over this mouth watering prospect and are quite optimistic about the surge in their sales. Though industry insiders say a cautious approach would be right to adopt as a clear picture will emerge only in the next four to six months. On top of it, the full impact of the shift will be seen after two seasons.

Experts candidly confess that China is a major competing nation for Indian leather products in the European and US markets. However, these days, Chinese products are getting costlier due to currency appreciation and increased wages which in turn is proving to be a boon for countries like India. Moreover as the Chinese economy is under pressure to become more open, such instances would further improve India's market share significantly.

It is also expected that during the current fiscal year, the European economy would show signs of improvement. This news holds relevance because EU is one of the major markets for various leather products (from India)like leather bags, leather wallets, leather goods, leather belts, leather pouches, leather jackets, leather luggage bags etc.

On the other hand, the Indian government too has taken a number of measures and relief packages for its leather industry, to the tune of 4,000 million rupees for the 10th leather plan and Rs 9130 million for 11th leather plan.

Leather bags suppliers unanimously confirm that the next six months would be crucial to judge market's behaviour and trends. Many analysts echo the sentiment, that if the Indian leather industry is keen on grabbing this golden opportunity than their production capacity as well the processing capacity of the tanning units should go through a major overhaul.

Beads Suppliers - Learning To Fly

The other day I was surfing though news channels, one small story caught my attention:

Experts design tiny beads to monitor blood sugar. Just as I switched over to another one, it was covering a few International Beads Festivals held across different parts of the globe.

All this made me think, what is it about the beads that it is making news everywhere? As far as I knew, all that they are used in was jewellery and that's it. The curiosity bug got better of me and I did a Google search for beads and their uses. I guess that helped me become a bit more informed about beads as my earlier vision was obscured by clouds of ignorance. Below is a quick analysis of what I learnt.

Beads have been a part of our history for a long time. Since ancient times they has been used by masses, not just for jewellery purposes but also for healing and meditation purposes.

In meditation the use of beads is still quite popular. One possible reason could be that it is generally assumed that beads helps in concentrating towards enlightenment ! If you have an eye for detail and good observation skills it wouldn't be too tough to see that beads are a common thread between all the religions !!

As far as jewellery is concerned, we are experiencing a real renaissance these days. The handmade jewellery is all over the places and is in high demand. Women loves them, as it gives them lots of varieties to wear at extremely affordable prices.

It is also commonly believed that gemstones beads have healing properties and are used in curing common ailments for a long time. They are perceived to have psychic powers and desired effects are obtained when they are used in prescribed shapes, sizes and weight. The scientific proof of all this has remained a moot point for many many years.

Coming back to bead work as an art, the first glance will make you believe it as an easy job to do. Though in order to create a masterpiece, one needs to learn the various techniques, practice and methodologies.

Beads Exporters says a lots of variety of beads are out there which are usually unknown to most of us. Some of these varieties are Pearl beads, Glass Beads, Crystal Beads, Semi precious stone beads, Seed Beads, Plastic Bead, Metal Beads, Wooden Beads, Stone Beads, Bone Beads etc.

Beads manufacturers are quite optimistic about their future as these are exciting times for beads suppliers because the demand for beads has sky rocketed like never before.

Carpet Suppliers all set for record profits!

Rapid commercialization has immensely benefited the carpet manufacturers across the globe. There has been a steady increase in the demand of carpets due to their enhanced role in the interior decoration of businesses and home establishments. Carpets suppliers are trying every trick in the book from using online marketing to highlighting the ergonomic features to capture new market segments in various locations.

A recent report confirms that the major players in the carpet industry include Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, China, England, France, Russia, the US and Persian countries. Emerging economies such as Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Latin America are also gaining leverage due to better resource management and cheap and abundant labour.

US is playing a pivotal role in the carpet industry worldwide. It recently imposed sanctions on Iran which has hampered their carpet exports significantly. It is estimated that the export of hand-woven carpets generates about $500 million annually for Iran’s economy, with 20 percent of the total earnings coming from the U.S. market. Carpet weaving is big business in Iran and one of the country’s biggest employers. Now that the sanctions have been placed it will hit their carpet industry hard though would give other countries a chance to fill in the gap.

On the other hand US is also making an attempt to boost the carpet industry of Pakistan (as a part of its good will gesture) by training the carpet artists, creating more jobs though more investment and other such measures. Other countries need not worry about this development as the Pakistan's economy is already in shambles and such steps are purely for survival and wouldn't empower them to become market leaders.

Experts believe as of now the carpet manufacturers are facing four main challenges . These are as follows

Availability of skilled workers and raw materials

Accessibility to capital

Understanding of conventional weaving patterns

Marketing concerns and competition among others

Worldwide, the US continues to enjoy its position as the largest market for the carpet suppliers and manufacturers. The region is trailed by Europe and Asia-Pacific at second and third positions respectively. Industry veterans say in terms of fastest growing region, Asia-Pacific, driven by India and China is positioned to take the lead through 2015.

Further reports confirm that Indian carpets exports have registered a growth of 24 percent in the first five months of this fiscal (2010-11) despite the slow economic recovery.

With the market being back on track and the rising demand with every quarter the only question remains - how much could the Indian carpets suppliers benefit? I think this is the time to execute the plans, the projections can take a back seat !

Handicrafts Exports Shoots Up; Exporters Hope The Trend Continues

The Indian Handicrafts exporters have finally something to cheer about. The export figures for handicrafts in August this year have shown a rise of 22 percent to USD 369 million as compared to USD 303 million in August last year. The rise is attributed to Christmas orders from US and European markets.

The US and EU together account for 70 per cent of the country's handicraft exports and with Christmas and New Year approaching, Indian Handicrafts exporters will see more profits and export orders for their products in the days to come.

Indian handicrafts exporters have already generated half the target of $2,200 million during the first two quarters of this financial year. It marks 13.6 per cent growth when compared to handicraft export revenues of Rs 8,718.94 crore in the year 2009-10.

According to the provisional data available the exports of Handicrafts have shown an increase of 21.71% in dollar terms, during April-August 2010-2011, over the similar period in 2009-2010. The exports of art metal wares, wood wares, hand printed textiles & scarves, embroidered goods, zari & zari goods, imitation jewelry and misc. handicrafts have also shown an increasing trend.

The Handicrafts sector was hit hard by global recession; there was 30 percent decline in handicraft export orders for India in the last three years. The sector turned positive in September 2009, registering a growth of over 165 percent. Indian Handicrafts exporters are now hopeful that the positive trend will continue in the coming months also.

Moradabad, Saharanpur, Jaipur and Jodhpur are the major handicraft hubs in India, catering to global markets. The sector employs about 1 million people.

Brass Handicrafts Exporters : Down But Not Out

"Art is not a handicraft, it is the transmission of feeling the artist has experienced." - Leo Tolstoy

Moradabad the "Brass City" famous for its huge export of brass handicrafts to North America, Europe and all over the world is very much perplexed these days. Their business is stumbling - going down by around 60 percent this year.

For the beginners, Moradabad is renowned for its brass work and has carved a niche for itself in the handicraft industry throughout the world. The main crafts are the modern and attractive brass ware, jewelry and trophies made by skilled artisans by loads of hardwork and sheer creativity. The artistic brass ware is exported to countries like United States, Britain, Canada, Germany, Middle East Asia etc. The quality of artefacts is often so fine that it usually leaves the foreign patrons gobsmacked, yearning for more. No doubt, there are about 600 export units and 5000 industries in the district. Moradabad exports goods worth around Rs. 2200 crore (USD 500 million) every year.

The brassware exporters are concerned about the fall in demand not just from US or UK, but also from the European Union. Indian Government still maintains that it is investing a lot of money to improve infrastructural facilities to promote the industrial activities at Moradabad like 24 hours UN-interrupted power supply, construction of By-pass etc. However the brassware exporters are not fully convinced with government's line of action.

Brass industry is being developed as a small scale industry in Moradabad. According to news reports, about 450 acres of land has been acquired to develop a new industrial area for Export Oriented Units (EOUs) at Pakbara to Dingarpur Road. Thus this could be a good opportunity for new entrepreneurs to establish their brassware projects.

The popular brass handicrafts that are mostly sought after are brass statues, brass figures, European statues, brass articles, brass candle holders, brass candle stands, brass cross statues, brass flower vase et al. Many buyers also like brass urns, brass artware, brass flower vase, brass statues, brass vases and brass wall hangings.

Industry insiders reveal that the main challenge before the Indian brass handicrafts industry is to involve the disenchanted local youth population to take this occupation as their full time business. They further say that the next important step would be to give them proper training (including technical innovations and marketing basics). The last step would be to make them fully understand the huge potential of this business. Unless and until a compelling drive is initiated, the brass industry of Moradabad could fade into oblivion.
